Meeting Minutes

12/06/06

Attendees:  Suzanne Piatt, Bill Piatt, Dominic Daniels, Ann Conklin, Sr. Dolores Ann, Jim Hawes, Mary Hawes, Fr. Pat

Stewardship Prayer:  Bill Piatt

Minutes were delivered at the meeting… so Suzanne took the blame for no new people at the meeting as no one remembered they were to ask someone new to come with them because they had no minutes to remind them!

Our discussions revolved around our plans for Commitment Sunday.

Committee members filled out stewardship questionnaires and handed in ones they had collected from others.  Suzanne is going to type up.

Bill brought in Beta Model of Stewardship “Attractive” display – compliments and decorating discussion ensued.  We also talked about how the boards should be tied to gether with the preaching and teaching on stewardship themes during our progress toward commitment Sunday.

We are working with 25 Sundays from Easter to Oct. and are choosing themes according to the readings.  (eg. Stewardship lifestyle in concurrence with social justice, prayer, tithing)  Plans are to do this biweekly with consideration of summer vacation.

Lay Witness letter is to go in the bulletin 3 wks  before the final C Sunday

Suzanne is going to do research on Commitment forms so that we can develop our own forms for Adults and for Children.  (include “my talents are”)

  • Follow Up will be key to success*

We will have a Mission on Sun., Mon. and Tues. the week leading up to Commitment Sunday.  We are working on a trinitatrian based theme of committing our hearts to God, Committing to our parish, and committing to our community.  (eg. 1 hrs. wages, 1 hr. of prayer and 1 hr.of service each week – imagine how we would see God working through us.) Fr. Pat will work on pins for the mission, and Contact Bishop Morneaux (who spoke at the DOR Stewardship Day and really touched the hearts of those who attended) about the possibility of his assistance at the mission.  We will also think of others who could possibly do one day of the mission.

Next meeting we will work on Themes and a timeline for Commitment Sunday on Oct. 14th.  Please come with ideas.  Also hand out more Witness forms and ask people to get them back to you.  Because of her experience with Liturgy Ann offered to work on getting our themes down from 10 to 7.  Bill is going to work on developing a logo for “Heart, Parish, Community” with a kind of sunrise thing.

We all thought it would be nice to work with Liturgy Committee and GIFT Committee on the Mission.

CHALLENGE:  Someone to Co-ordinate.

Suzanne brought information that the Diocese of Rochester is Beginning to put together a Stewardship Video and a Comprehensive package of goodies for Stewardship Committees.  The tools will be free to us and we are hoping they are available for us to use soon.  Suzanne is going to contact Doug Mandelaro and let him know that our Committee is interested.

The old sound system is to be removed fri. the 8th first thing in the morning  come help if you can.

Don’t forget our Committees’ Christmas party Dec. 13th!  Bring a treat to pass

Next Meeting is January 3rd 2007!  A Blessed
