OUR LADY OF THE VALLEY
FINANCIAL COUNCIL MEETING MINUTES
NOVEMBER 16, 2011
Meeting opened by Gary Mikolajczyk at 7:10 PM.
- Present: Fran Tucker, Lisa Dirlam, Donna Haraty, Roberto Avila, Sister Dolores Stein, Joanne Clark, James McKeown , Sandra Bishop, Jim Locker, and Fr. Peter.
- Minutes were read and approved—1st Fran Tucker, 2nd Jim Locker.
- School Report: The flag sale netted a profit of $8000 plus money not in yet. It was noted that it was a success. There are 100 students enrolled in the school at the present time. Donna gave a break on the scholarship fund and how it was used. It was decided by Fr. Peter to use monies from the fund for this year’s enrollment. Lisa also said that the maintenance man gave his 2 week notice, so they will need to replace him. It is a full time job - 35 hours a week.
It was suggested that the church have a fundraising committee. Fr. Peter said that it would be included in the 3-year financial plan.
- The new doors have been blessed by Bishop Clark. For the most part the doors are functioning well. There is still a problem with the door on the handicap side. It is being addressed to the company that supplied the doors.
- CMA: It is at 38% - $18,323 with only 15% participation. We only have 6 months to collect the amount we are assessed. Fr. has a committee to work on this and will have it confirmed later this week.
Budget Process: Request from all church departments are needed to report to the business office by December 15th so that the budget can be completed.
3 Year Plan: Nothing in place at this time. It was suggested by Jim Locker that we complete the year 2012 budget before we start the 3 year plan. This was agreed by all committee members.
A discussion on the buildings and grounds was had. We need to see what may need repair in the upcoming year. It was decided that a committee needed to do this and when it was completed it would be up to Fr. Peter to prioritize.
Closing Prayer 8:10, meeting adjourned.
Respectfully Submitted:
